I prefer mornings because 2-5 is still naptime around here. But if it is in the afternoon, I guess Saturday edges out Sunday...but it doesn't really matter that much to me.

All of the bday party from emmy's school has been on a Sunday in the afternoon time (around 11 or noon) and it has worked out great since we have gymnastics Sat morning and church sat evening. With that said...we had Emmy's party Sat evening this year (starting at 4:30) and it was really nice for everyone.
In our house, Sundays are for worship and time with family. When we are invited to birthday parties on Sundays, we do not attend. My girls' birthday parties will always be on Saturdays.

This for us too. We've gone to a couple if they are family parties, but honestly, with church, naps and the like... it is so crazy for us and the girls that it isn't nearly as fun as a party on Saturday.
Between church schedules (assuming people sometimes only go in the morning, which I know is not the case for many of our nesties), followed by nap time, the Sunday parties we have been invited to were at around 3 or 4. That is too late for us unless it is within a few minutes of our house because by the time we get home our Sunday night schedule is completely thrown off.

Similarily,Sundays in our house are also a time for worship & fellowship with family & friends.....which is why I personally don't see anything wrong with a party being held this day, since it is considered fellowship in my book. I time them after church service is over (which for us is 1pm--so I will usually do my party at 2:30 or 3) and it works out great.

I don't think she was knocking a Sunday party, but was just answering the poll. I've had to catch Missjake between services because her family does morning worship and study and then afternoon/evening worship and/or fellowship at their church. The break between is nap time for the M's.

I didn't think she was knocking me....and I agree, if you go to morning and evening services, it would be darn near impossible to fit a b-day party in between...I was merely stating that for my crowd (who are mostly church-going), the late afternoon Sunday time frame seems to work out well.

I prefer Saturdays, but that's partially because my kids don't have anything scheduled on Saturdays yet, so there's rarely a conflict.
I don't mind Sundays if they're earlier in the day, like starting no later than 1. But Sunday for us is a day of relaxing, but also getting ready for the upcoming week. We love our unstructured pajama Sundays.
Saturdays, Sunday we have church and then we have to fit in time for naps and getting everything ready for the week. I have only attended 1 Sunday party and thats because it just happened to be at the park across the street from my church, so we lucked out.
Re: Birthday party poll
I porefer Sunday mid-day, because it seems like people always have so much going on on Saturdays (sports, etc).
I have always had K's parties on Sundays and they are always overwhelmingly well attended.
This year I am having it on a Saturday (by default, as the place isn't open on Sundays) and we are competeing with soccer games, swim meets, etc.
