Infertility

New with question

Hi there!

I am Kelly and my husband is Paul.  After over a year of TTC we found out that DH had low motility and morph of his sperm. He has had some more tests done and it has been found that he has low Testosterone levels.  He is picking his meds up tomorrow to start taking...and we follow up in 3 months to see if his levels have risen.  In the meantime we have considered adoption...we have one adopted son whom we adopted through foster care.  We are currently fostering again.

DH was on chemo and radiation as a child and I believe that may have attributed to his condition.

Anyways, my question is, has anyone dealt with this?  Did you conceive after your DH had treatment?

Thanks for any help you can give me!

Re: New with question

  • We are!  DH did not have any treatment in his past but he does have low testosterone.  We are waiting to go to the urologist to see what his treatment will be.  We obviously have not been successful yet, so you to get success stories you would want to ask on the PAIF or SAIF board.  But there are plenty of ladies dealing with MFI on here and others who have moved on to PAIF.

  • My Dh also has low count and low testosterone and the doc put him on anastrozole to increase it.  His count improved before the 3 month mark and we're not sure why. See my siggy for all info.  You can also post on PAIF for success stories.  If your Dh has any sperm at all, you are candidates for IVF and if he has over 5 - 10 million total motile sperm, you can do IUI.  Good luck!

Baby N conceived after 1 miscarriage and more than 2 years of TTC. Diagnosis was low sperm count. We found success after 3 months of anastrozole to increase DH's testosterone and one IUI.
