Well, this was a pretty good day all around - I got sent home (really, they asked me if I wanted to go home) from work at lunchtime. HECK YEAH! So I was home by noon, got to spend a little extra time with Quinn, and then my mom stayed home with him while DH and I went out and did some errands. He has a gallery opening next weekend and we needed to deliver the work - it's a gorgeous drive to the gallery and it was gorgeous weather outside... we stopped afterward at our favorite pizza place and had pizza and gelato.
THEN... we went to my doctor's appointment... technically, it's my 40 week appt. I was way more upbeat going into the appointment today just because I've tried really hard to be more positive in the last week. So, she talks about what they will do if I go too far past my due date - that at a week past due they will want an u/s and NST to make sure everything is okay and then go from there. I told her we'd talked about it on the way to the appt and decided if he wasn't born over the weekend, we'd like to make our appt for Monday next week and have her strip my membranes (because that was oh, so instantly effective last time around - a little more than 12 hours later, I had my baby!) She said that sounded great. I was happy they weren't at all talking about an induction...
Then she did my internal and said "I don't remember what you were last week, but you're a good 3-4 cm now." YAY!!! I know it doesn't mean anything... but it sure is nice to know that when the real deal starts I'm already 1/3 of the way done!
I'm also really excited to see how this labor will go... I've spent a lot of time wondering about how Quinn's labor/birth was affected by her stripping my membranes... so yeah...
Good all around
Thanks for all the happy thoughts - you guys are the best!
