Sandals, Opinions please (PIPs)

So, I'm starting to shop for late spring/summer things for my kiddos. I'm feeling a little overwhelmed because I'm pretty sure DS needs a whole new wardrobe this year (last year he was able to fit in a bunch of things from the year before). Anyhow, I was looking at sandals for both kids and DH says he likes these for DS. THey are $40 (more than I'd usually spend). He needs a pair of sandals to wear with regular outfits and to wear with his swim shorts that are waterproof for the splash pad, lake, etc. This pair would be fine with regular shorts and are also waterproof, eliminating the need for a second pair and justifying the cost a bit. WDYT?

Also, WDYT of these for DD? I don't really want a hard sole sandal for her tiny little feet, but hate bare feet on babies out in public, even if it is 90 degrees out. They are Robeez.
