Reid was casted yesterday

We took Reid to the orthopedic surgeon yesterday for his club feet.  They put his first set of casts on and said he should only need one more set.  They are hoping to get his feet to 15 degrees, if they can't they will have to cut his achilles tendon but that would be the only surgery he will need.  No bone surgery!  

They also said that because he came so early that it kept his feet from being tighter.  At least something good came out of him being early!  Poor baby cried all day yesterday but is napping nicely today and more like normal.

    Poor kiddo.  That must be such a frustrating feeling - not knowing or understanding why you are being subjected to something.  Yeah for only tendon surgery!

    Oh poor guy!  I'm glad to hear you are getting some good news regarding his prognosis and next steps.

    DS is a twin and had metatarus adductus as a result from his position in the womb.  He had to have a cast also (only 2 - changed it after the 1st week) and then wore some ortho shoes while sleeping for a few months.  He's 5 now and you'd never know he had a problem.  Glad he doesn't need surgery!

    Because the nurse practitioner is going on vacation next week he will wear the first set for 2 weeks then the second set for a week.

    However I got a call from the neonatologists office and they wanted to know if I had been putting on his apnea monitor b/c when they downloaded it, it appeared blank like we weren't using it.  Like we wouldn't use it!  We went to their office to have it downloaded I suspect it was human error but they claim thats never happened in 20 years.  Like I believe someone hasn't downloaded something wrong in that length of time.  Now they are brining a new monitor and he has to wear it for 3 more weeks.

    If it's not one thing its another. :p  Thanks for asking about Reid.
