Babies: 6 - 9 Months

Am I Vackay Crazy?

I am about to push "go" on a vacaky to the Dominican Republic (Punta Cana) for me, DH, and DD with another couple and their baby.  DD will be 7 months at the time of the trip.  Do you think I am bonkers to go out of the country?  Have any of you gone to Punta Cana or the Caribbean?  Support needed!

  • She is so cute! Do you have her passport yet? If not, better make sure you can get her one in time!

  • I think with your daughter @ that age you will have a fine trip. I'm not sure how shopping is down there, so you may want to consider packing extra diapers and wipes (which might be a pain given the cost of an extra bag). You'll probably want to take your pack-n-play and possibly your stroller.

Otherwise, I bet being around so many people and so much hustle and bustle will put your baby to sleep in the airport and probably the plane.

  • I went to the DR a few years back- have you looked in to Puerta Plata? It was a more family-friendly part of the island, and less known for the college-age spring break crowd as Punta Cana was. It was beautiful and the people are fantastic! I suggest going on an RV guided trip if you can- we really got to see the countryside that way! Have fun!
