Baby Names (joining in)

For a girl we have Alya

and for a boy we are choosing between Laith (pronouced Lay-th), Amar, or Hassan.

No middle names for us, LO will have my husband's name as middle name no matter what gender.

  • Of the boy names mentioned I like Amar the best.

  • How do you pronounce Alya?

Is there some history behind your names?  They are not my style, but because they are non traditional, it makes me think there might be some significant meaning to them.

  • Alya is Al-ya.  They are all arabic names.  We need something that is Arabic background, but easy to pronouce in English.

Alya is cute.  Different, but cute.  I also like Amar best out of the boy names you posted.

  • I love Alya and Laith.  I have a friend with similar issues they need names that work in Arabic/Hebrew/English.  They are coming up with a lot of biblical names.
  • Laith is cute

  • I really like Amar out of your boy choices. And Alya is very pretty!
