Crib tonight...

Maybe....

DD goes to bed about 8/9 and gets up and 2/3 and then at 6 for the day (prob because DD1 does too). She also grunts for an hour before she wakes up each time... thus keeping me awake.

Anyhow, she has been in a bassinet next to me since day 1, and I am thinking of moving her tonight. I really don't think it will change her schedule much.

My only thing is that her "routine" is nurse, swaddle, be held for 30/45 minutes by daddy before being put down. I suppose we can continue to do that for a little while longer before trying to do the whole routine in her room. I say that because I really don't want to sit there and rock her in the dark for 45 minutes! I will be asleep in no time! I kind of like that we can sit and watch tv together while she goes to sleep.

Anyone else moving LO soon?

Re: Crib tonight...

  • I've been saying I would every week, but I've finally decided 2 months will be good....so in 5 days. Although now I'm worried because she has had 2 rough nights in a row and it is so nice to just reach over and put her pacifier in rather than get up and walk into another room.

  • I moved my LO at 2 weeks.  We had DS#1 in our room for 2 months, and then he was STTN so we moved him to the crib.  I slept sooo much better because I didn't wake up every time he made a peep.  I don't know how mant times I would wake up to some little sound only to see a peaceful sleeping baby once I got up.  This time I was less paranoid in general, so I didn't hesitate to move DS#2 that early.  I can hear him just fine on the baby monitor but I don't wake up every time he grunts in his sleep.  When I sit in the dark and rock him I'm online on my iPod touch - it's awesome.

  • I think we are going to move Isaac here soon too since he is now able to sleep on his back without distress.

It just makes me nervous though, even though there is no difference between him sleeping in our closet in his PnP (yes, closet) while we sleep versus him in the room next to us in his crib while we sleep.

Right now we have no routine but I seriously need to start one for not only his sake but mine Tongue Tied.

  • we moved DD to her room at 2wks. because of the grunting. It takes me about 30-45mins to feed, change and rock her back to sleep for her mid night feeding.
