Ok so...two days ago I all of a sudden felt a flutter in my uterus....it actually made me giggle...i know its not gas...i know what gas feels like! lol .. then the next day ...happens again except it happened about 2-3 times throughout the day usually when i am laying down and being stilll....then today it starts happening again...i cant help but think that its the baby moving around in there!? anyone else feeling this so soon??

Re: fluttering already?

  • There is no way you are feeling the baby moving at 9 weeks. It most likely your uterus expanding.

Agreed. Your uterus, gas, or muscle spasm.

Ditto.  I felt fluttering with my 2nd pg and thought I started feeling the baby around 17w, then I had a D&E and felt it for a week after and realized it was just muscle spasms.

  • I felt it too for the first time at 9.5 weeks...and I know its not gas....I still feel the same sensation when I lay down in bed...I'm 11 weeks now and feel the fluttering a lot!!

I don't care what people say, I know I can feel it....if the baby is the size of a lime right now, I know I'm feeling it as it jumps around....

These aren't kicks and punches people, its like tingly fluttering and I know I'm feeling it!!

  • I have felt the same thing, i'm quite certain it's muscle spasms. Feels very funny/weird though!
  • I am betting on muscle spasms in your uterus from expanding. Most women don't feel their baby moving until 14++ weeks. And that's just what I have heard. I have had fluttering in my uterus too.. but I highly doubt it is the baby moving around yet. I have read several places that at this point there is too much amniotic fluid in there to feel anything.

  • With my son I did not feel anything until about 21/22 weeks.  I too have felt little tingle feelings, but I am 99% sure they are muscle contractions.  It is just too soon.  Unless you are the size of a stick, there is no way you are feeling movement this early.

I promise you its not the baby. I have been feeling "fluttering" since about 4 weeks. You can not feel it "jumping around", ask your OB at your next appointment. It's barely moving and certainly not "a lot".

  • that does seem kinda early.  i know i keep feeling a tightness and then it loosens and then it tightens.  kinda annoying and weird but i would guess it's my uterus expanding.  i know with my DH i felt flutters at 14 weeks.

  • I really don't think it's the baby moving that early. I felt my first at close to 20 weeks and my second around 14.
  • I agree with the majority here, it's most likely gas or stretching uterus. I had my u/s last week and that baby was bouncing around like crazy on the screen but I couldn't feel a thing. I've also had that fluttery feeling several times in recent weeks and it has always turned out to be gas.

  • You would be surprised....you should have seen how much the bean was moving with my first ultrasound....it was moving a LOT. My OB said its possible to feel it around 10-12 weeks with your second..and I'm pretty thin.

I had some orange juice before my nap this afternoon and I felt it again when I laid down, for 2 seconds.

    Everyone is different though

  • you said u drank juice and could feel it?? i usually sip apple juice when im laying down in the am and thats when i feel it...girls i know youre saying no way but its not gas and i know when the stretching occurs because i get crampy.. this is wayyyyyyy different....who knows...maybe its the baby maybe its not...ill see what the dr says :)
