XP: Furious with RE's office

When I left my monitoring appt this morning I was told that everything was a go and they would check with Dr. G and then let me know what time to trigger tonight and set up the IUI for Wednesday. Phone hours ended at 3:30 PM and no one has called. I left two voice mails and finally just had the Dr paged through the emergency line. I don't know if I was supposed to do that, but I don't want to guess at a trigger time and hope they can squeeze me in for an IUI 36 hrs later. I still have not heard anything.

Other BS this office has pulled:

- Called in wrong dose of thyroid med

- Made me wait over an hour past my scheduled IUI time

- Made a big deal about having a beta done first thing in the AM so they could get me the results that day, and then never called.

- I always have to remind them that I am allergic to latex even though there is a big orange sticker on my chart that states that.

I stuck with them because I really liked the RE herself and they are close to home, but I just can't handle the incompetence of the office anymore. If IUI #3 is required, it will be with a different RE.

Sorry, I guess I just needed to vent. Where can I find recommendations for RE's in Michigan?

Re: XP: Furious with RE's office

  • I am very curious who your RE is (and whereabouts are you?).  I have gone to 2 different offices and what you're describing sounds a lot like the first place I went to (and was one of the reasons why we left).

Can you PM me the info if you don't want to share publicly?

  • Oh ok, you are farther west than me.  I was going to RMA in Troy when I was having issues with the communication back and forth, and that caused us to leave there.  I go somewhere else now, but it's in Macomb and I doubt you'd want to make that drive!

I'm sorry you're going through that--I hope you hear back from someone and everything works out this cycle so you don't have to worry about it anymore!

  • No recommendations on Michigan, but I totally feel your pain...don't they understand that IF is stressful enough without them pulling little stunts like that, big (((hugs))), and good luck with the IUI!

  • Wow, I would be livid too.  I hope they've called you back by now or will soon!  So sorry you're dealing with this.  Hopefully you get your bfp and won't have to deal with it much longer!  Good luck!

  • I had similar problems with that office too, but really liked Dr. Gago.  Good luck with this cycle! Hope you will not need another IUI.
  • I lived in Troy my whole life and recently moved out of state.  A very close friend of mine saw Dr. Abuzeid in Rochester Hills.  She did IUI's (medicated) and got pregnant with twins.

    Good luck!!

I am AMA and all tests on H came back normal

  • I would be really frustrated, too.  I can't help with recommendations for that area, but I would let your old RE know all of the reasons that you are leaving . . . if I were the RE, I would want to know what the patients were experiencing and thinking.

  • I am seeing Dr. Shamma from IVF Michigan. So far he has been wonderful and we haven't had any issues with the office. I think they have offices throughout the state. Might be something you want to look into.

  • I've heard good things about Lynda Wolf, I think she's in Troy...  I would give her a call if my plan covered anyone outside of Ohio.  Sad

We have TWO RE offices in the Toledo area, and I've already had it with one of them.   My other choices are two hours away, in Cleveland.
