I just got done being a domestic baby food goddess and I'd like to hear about some of your baby food WINS! Mini D is quite the adventurous little eater and there hasn't been much she doesn't like.
Tonight I made:
Cauliflower with apples and blueberries
Carrots and sweet potato (a touch of nutmeg)
Pulled pork and sweet potato
Steel cut oats with pear and cinnamon (breakfast of champs)
plain, whole wheat pasta (to test as a finger food tomorrow. I was inspired by you all today).
Please share your recipes with me.
MWAH!
Re: A Baby Food Recipe Swap!
Sorry, I don't have any recipes to share, since I'm the Gerber Queen (until the Baby Bullet I ordered arrives), but your recipes sound AMAZING!
You're like Julia Freakin' Child!
I wish I ate that well!
I'm in the midst of putting all my recipes down into a blog - which I will share once I can figure the dang thing out.
BUT - I will share what I made last night as it was SUPER simple and a MAJOR hit.
I like to call it my 5 minute sauce as it literally took less then 5 minutes to make.
I made whole wheat spiral pasta the night before with a little bit of butter. O ate it as a finger food and then I added it to his meal that night but wanted to see if he'd eat pasta as a meal...so I threw together a little sauce to go with it. Here's what I did:
1 small tomato diced into small bite sized pieces
1 clove of garlic, minced
touch of basil, oregano, salt & pepper
about 1 tsp of olive oil
I heated the olive oil and garlic in a small saucepan, then added the tomato and spices. Stirred it up until the tomatoes were soft - then added the pasta spirals that I had cut in half.
Owen LOVED it he ate almost twice what I thought he would eat. I figured we'd have some leftovers for tonight but he ate almost the whole thing.
My LO loves this one...
10 blueberries
1 banana
2 tablespoons rice cereal
Steam the blueberries and banana in little bit of water on stove, boil for few minutes. Put into blender with rice cereal and water cooked in and blend away....his favorite yet!!!
Yum. Sounds healthy and delish. LOVE quinoa.
We are just starting out so I haven't been able to put my skills to work yet. The most adventurous we've gotten so far is bluberry/banana.
