Hi! We were there with our first son in December 2008, before they went private. He was in the NICU for six weeks. It was so chaotic with the cramped bays and we moved bays a lot, but I absolutely loved our nurses and the doctors. Even though we don't live far from Providence, we decided to stay at RMH for convenience - I had a long maternity leave and my DH could easily drive to work and it was a nasty winter. I loved it because I could easily pop back over to RMH to pump.
It really bummed me out that Boston doesn't have a RMH or any arrangement like it. I would say my second son's stay at the Brigham NICU was pretty similar to W&I (he came home last Thursday!) in terms of chaos. They're moving towards a private room system too, but are a long way off.
How are you finding the private rooms? I really want to go check out the new building, I've heard it's awesome.
