So Ive been noticing that Lilly (our month old 1st baby) is already starting to learn that when she is sitting in her swing (which she will not sleep in her crib at all) and im trying to get her asleep she will look around to make sure that you are there and even then someimes cry because shes wanting to be held...I will try to let her cry for awhile but then I feel bad or she will get heself all worked up..any suggestions on how to get her to "self sooth" herself or get a way to break that cycle before it gets worse??
has anyone else had this prob?
Re: H*E*L*P Need advice!!!!!!!!!!
One month old babies haven't learned to manipulate, and they're a bit too young to self-soothe. That comes later, like around 3-4 months from what I understand. If your baby is crying as if she needs you, she probably does. I wouldn't worry so much about these things right now. Just enjoy and snuggle your baby.
If it helps, though, my DS closes his eyes almost instantly once I offer a paci. He can fall asleep in his swing, bassinet or PNP as long as he is sucking on something. He usually spits it out after a couple mins and doesn't need it after that; it just helps soothe him so he can fall asleep.
this! my ds is the same way!
