I know he is ahealthy baby boy..... I just went for the scan the other day
Yet I barely feel him. I am tall (5"10" don't know if that has anything to do w/ it...but I don't feel an awful lot of movement. I know some girls who @ 19-20wks were claiming they felt a ton!
Re: 21 weeks - minimal movement felt
I wouldn't be too concerned either. My friend didn't feel anything till about 30 weeks. I think everyone is different!
Stay positive though, your scan says healthy so try and trust in that!!
I was getting concerned bc I haven't felt this one nearly as much as I did with DD. When I went for my u/s the other day he told me my placenta is anterior, which means it's on the front of my belly. Apparently that makes a huge difference in feeling movement bc of the extra cushion.
Your baby could also be facing backward right now and if kicking that way you may not feel as much as if he were outward facing.
Try not to worry!
If this is your first don't worry. So many factors come into play, your height, weight, active or non-active baby, placenta, etc.
This is my second and I started feeling movement around 15 weeks, but very few and far between. It was not until this week, week 18, that I feel daily taps and kicks, but again they are not huge kicks yet, if I am not still and thinking about it I am sure I would miss it.
You will be feeling it soon enough and then it won't stop.
I too am just now 21 weeks and was worried like you but my doctor made me feel so much better. She said that sometime the baby moves are so small that they feel like the butterfly wings touching a glass jar. Here I was waiting for a big kick from the inside. The doc said not to worry, sometimes women don't feel anything until 24-28 weeks, that made me breath easier!
I hope you start feel him kicking soon though!
I'm still a couple weeks behind you, but I only feel my LO a few times a day, and it is still very subtle. No defined "kicks" yet. Also, I only feel movement when I am sitting upright. It seems like othres feel it more when they are laying on their side.
I haven't had my anatomy scan yet, but I plan on asking my doc where my placenta is when I do.
