Vag. delivery STILL kicking my a$$.

My one stitch tear didn't heal right and now I have to go back in to have what is exposed burned off. Indifferent

It is either that or leave it and let it heal on its own which could take weeks or even months and, in the meantime, use lidocaine gel on it so I won't scream in pain during sex.

I healed better with my emergency cesarean, which is a major surgery, then I did with my failed vaginal delivery. Wow.

This sucks.

  • Oh my... I'm sorry to hear that. I had a friend who tore during her 2nd vag delivery 3yrs ago and the stitches were put in so that it was healed uneven and she got what she called her 'lucky fin'. She wound up getting surgery to fix it, and then she had a 'designer vagina.' 2 months after she healed from the surgery and was given the OK to be with her DH again in bed, she conceived her 3rd child! (lol)

I hope the burning off thing won't be as bad as it sounds. I'm sorry you're healing so terribly from your vaginal delivery.

OB said it has nothing to do with how the oncall OB stitched me up or anything that I did but it is sounds like somewhat the same thing almost since this is like a little lip and it sticks out. I kind of figured it didn't heal right because of the way it looked and hurt.

Designer vagina...ha, makes me laugh every time I hear it.

  • haha - "lucky fin" made me LOL. FWIW, I had a 3rd degree tear with my first and ended up with a small "tag" (not quite a fin?) but it wasn't painful so I never did anything about it. I had a 2nd degree with my son and it seems that after this repair the tag is gone. Good luck with your proceure; hope you get some relief!

  • Yikes, sorry to hear it!  Hope the burning off isn't bad!

On another note, I am SO glad I'm not the only one with a new flap!!  I flipped my sh!t when I first saw it, but it's shrunk a little and I've learned to embrace my new anatomy.
