Not IF related. Wording of bday invites

Silly question for you all. Im completley stumped by this though and google has not given me any good suggestions. I am planning a surprise 50th birthday party for my mom in may. We are having it at a mid priced brewery.

I am trying to figure out a way to put that everyone should be prepared to pay for their own food and drink, and no gifts. This may be tacky to some but no one in our family can afford to pay for everyone. Any ideas?

  • I found several things on goggle. I cannot cut and paste on my phone. Most places said to just put the cost of the meal on the invite.

  • You could put the brewery's website and say something like "check out their drink selection and pricing here" or something.  Or you just say it's cash bar.

Personally, if I was going to a birthday party at a brewery, I'd expect to pay!

For no gifts, I like the "your presence is Mom's present" :)
