Cloth Diapering

Cloth Wipes?

Do most of you use cloth wipes too?  Do they work just as good as the disposables?  How many do you use in one messy diaper clean up?  TIA!

Re: Cloth Wipes?

  • I use cloth wipes (baby washcloths) because if I used disposables, I would need a diaper pail and a trash can in the nursery.  The wipes get cleaned along with the diapers.

They work better than disposables and for messy-messy diapers, I only need 2...One dry one to absorb all the nasties, then a wet one to clean up.

  • We use cloth wipes.  They clean up so much easier than with disposables.  I just toss the diaper and wipe in the pail and wash it all together.

  • I use cloth wipes, because if you're already cloth diapering it just makes sense. You're already doing the laundry, you're already keeping your baby away from the paper and chemicals...why use sposie wipes?

We don't use a wipe at every diaper change, but most. And poopy diapers require 2 wipes on average. It depends on if you get one layer, two layers or the double sided with one side terry cloth etc. I use simply one layer wipes and have never used more than 3 for a poopy diaper.

  • D is still pretty little but I bought the Grovia wipes and LOVE them. I only need one per change. I wet part of it to wipe and then use the dry have to pat dry. I'm planning on buying a dozen more!
