Obviously we have all griped about constipation or changes in our regularity. This may be viewed as a TMI post but we definitely have shared more with each other than I'm willing to disclose to my DH. I'm just curious to see what the average time lapse is for the Sept. mommies. If you are using any aids to keep things moving, please share what they are!

Re: Clicky Poll: How "regular" are you?
I go once a day usually. I've always had a bad stomach (gal bladder removed and have the constipated side of IBS) so if I skip a day, it's horrible for everyone around me because I'm miserable. I drink a LOT of water, take 3-4 Metamucil capsules at 8pm every night and I eat a high fiber breakfast cereal. If I even feel like I may be getting backed up, I try to eat a ton of veggies that day, which is basically like eating card board to me right now, but I'd rather eat card board than get constipated!
I too, have IBS and prior to becoming pregnant I sort of accepted the fact that being regular for me is going maybe 2x a week. Now that I am pregnant, I am lucky if I can go 2xs.
my read shelf:
I go about once a week. I'd do cartwheels down the hallway if it was more often than that.
Colace and lots of water seem to be the only thing that really help. Fiber just makes me extra bloated and look like I'm carrying quads.
So I have IBS as well, but not the constipation kind some people are describing. I will leave it at that, lol. Anyway, fiber actually makes people with this kind of IBS worse since we are trying not to go all the time.
Well this pg, I am lucky if I go once a week. But, my dr. said that is due to the fact that I am not eating enough to go more frequently then that. But, I wasn't having problems when I did though. Skip to last week, when I started the drugs...holy moly. I have never experienced anything like that before. I will start the colace this week, and I am pretty sure that my kind of IBS is better than the constipation kind. Who would have ever thought that? I really feel for those ladies.
My SIL has the same IBS symptoms that you do, Lily. She was diagnosed with Crohn's about 2 years ago and since starting her treatments she has slowly gotten better. I know she wants to start her family soon and I've wondered how her tummy would cope.
Oddly, the only reason that I took a pregnancy test in January was because I was so constipated. That lasted only about another week and I got back on track. Hopefully with the new medication that you have started you will be able to gain some of your weight back and get to feeling better. GL!
