DD has adjusted really well to the Nutramigen, so I think we're sticking with it. She's actually happy when she's awake now and not screaming all the time!
I am so glad to hear your LO is doing well on it! Isaac is doing great as well. He still spits up but at this point I would consider it a laundry issue since he doesn't seem in distress anymore or spitting p as much. He is also able to pass gas and have a bowel movement without screaming and writhing in pain.
He has started cooing so much more now that he isn't screaming all the time. Warms my heart.
I actually just got off the phone with the pedi to have her send in information to our insurance company hoping they will cover some of the costs. $30 a can is insane and will put us in the poor house. Although, even if they don't we will still use it because you can't put a price on a happy baby so we would figure it out.
Do you know if you are able to get yours covered by insurance?
So glad he's doing better - what a relief! That's exactly how it is with DD. She still spits up a good bit but isn't bothered by it now! It's amazing to see how happy they can be!
Unfortunately, I did ask about my insurance covering it. They'll only cover it if it's fed through a g-tube. But I completely agree with you - I would take out a 2nd mortgage to keep her happy if I had to!
I did find it cheapest through Target's website though as far as my research went. Online they sell the big cans (19.8oz), and they were on sale over the weekend for $29.99, instead of $32.99. I think they're back up to $32.99 again now though.
I did go and buy one large can this weekend from Target when it was on sale since Isaac already went through the two small cans the pedi gave us. I am hoping to find out sooner rather then later if the insurance will cover it over not before we buy a ton of cans.
Butting in...we switched DS to Nutramigen 2 weeks ago and he's doing much better too. He still has some rough days but nothing like before. I'm so glad it's working for your LOs! I know how hard it can be and I just wanted to let you know there's someone else here who can relate to what you've been through.

I love hearing from others who have tried it! So glad it's working for your DS!

Stinky about the insurance!

I hope they'll cover it - keep me posted!
