I'm starting Lupron in just about 3 weeks, would you mind sharing your experience on it?
Side effects, did it delay AF and if so by how long, and other tips. Did the shot really hurt?
Thanks all.

Re: Lupron - s/e, delays AF, general experience w/it **paifw/saifw**
I think AF was about 5 days late for me. I'm not sure if that's b/c of the lupron or the bcps.
Good luck!

Lupron is pretty brutal on me! I get a headache the whole time, and it makes me very forgetful! It just made me feel.. off. I always get a "lupron period" My nurse even puts it on the calendar for me! The shots aren't painful. For me, they are probabally the easiest one!
Some people get no s/e from the Lupron.. I hope you are one of them! Good luck!

I'm only on 10 units of lupron now and I'm not experiencing any side effects (and I've been on for several weeks now for a FET). When I initially did IVF, I think I had a higher dose for a while (20 units?) and the only side effect I had was some insomnia.
In terms of AF, if anything I got it about a day earlier, but I was on BCP and I only started lupron a couple days before AF was due, so I'm not sure if that was related to lupron or not.
The shot really doesn't hurt at all. One thing i figured out the first time around is if you have a spot that really hurts going in, stop and do a different spot. For me if I did it where it hurt, I was more likely to wind up with a bruise, which makes me think I was hitting some type of superficial blood vessel. This time I haven't injected where it hurts and I have no bruises yet. :-) Good luck!

Lupron does put me in a terrible fog. But that fog goes away once I get to stop the Lupron. And it does delay AF by a day or two. The shot itself is very easy.
Good luck!
