Looking for good child care tips!

I am due in August and live in Littleton but work downtown. Does anyone have any tips on the best way to arrange child care? Is it easier if I try to find someone close to work or in home?

Re: Looking for good child care tips!

  • when i worked out of the home, i found that it was better to have childcare close to work.  we lived in centennial and i worked in westminster.  dh and i had opposite work schedules, so it was just easier for me to do drop off and pick up.  i picked closer to work simply because 1.  i could run over during lunch and play with him and 2.  in the event of a snow storm, i didn't have to worry about getting there before they closed due to traffic.

  • I would think by work.  Many childcare places charge more if you pick up late...so if traffic on the way home isn't looking good you could be charged for every minute you're late after hours...also, if you're breastfeeding, if baby gets ill, or just want to pay baby a visit having him/her nearby would be a benefit.
