I walked into dd's room yesterday to find her biting/scrapping the front of her crib with her teeth. Super awesome.
I went to the fabric store yesterday afternoon and picked out some material, and have a few ideas of how I want to do this (but, I am not crafty and nothing ever turns out like I plan!). However, I was wondering if you have made one and if you have pictures of it, or a link the "how to" that you used.
Thanks so much!!
Re: Have you made a crib rail guard?
I made this one....it was super easy, the only annoying part was making all the measurements, but I find that to be the most annoying part of sewing no matter what!
I didn't sew the ties, I just used ribbon...if you use ribbon make sure you stitch it back and forth a few times to make it really stuck on there...I only went over it once and the ribbons ripped off almost immediately after he started tugging on it.Also I didn't but the quilt fabric, I just bought cheap white fleece and stitched a couple pieces of it together to use that as the padding.

Ditto this. This was an easy one to make, and I'm actually making one for my ILs and one for my Mom & Dad's crib too! I also "ditto" using ribbon-much easier.
I did use the quilt fabric, but I doubled it so it was more cushiony since DS can really chomp down!
GL!
I made my own with DD1 and am using it again. I like that it's washable, too!
I used cheap fleece and no pattern; I'm not particularly crafty, but I do know basic sewing. I just took measurements of the three rails that I wanted to cover, with very generous allowances to make sure that every part of the rail was covered. They're basically long, thin rectangles with ties every few inches. The biggest PITA was turning them right-side-out after sewing them together.
I used some quilt batting that I had laying around so that it was thick enough that DD1 couldn't bite through it to the wood. I tried loose stuffing, but that didn't work b/c it made it too puffy and it wouldn't lay flat against the rails. I also tried using ribbons as ties, and they started unraveling almost immediately, so I wouldn't recommend that. I ended up using ties that were more similar to shoelace material.

I made a no sew crib rail. I just bought some fleece in a coordinating color laid it across the front and side rails of the crib so I knew how long to make it. Then I cut strips of the bottom and tied them together like one of those no-sew blankets. Here is a pic of one that I found. I didn't need the tutorial because it's so easy.

This is exactly what I did. I bought from the scrap bin, so the whole thing cost me maybe $5
That's what I did too. It doesn't look perfect, but it works and was easy to make!
