Per this thread, we're hoping to condense a lot of the "gawker" threads into one! We thought this would make them more fun to browse and the board an easier read. We'll start a new thread every day to keep the list fresh.
Anyone is welcome to add to the post--local hospital names, the awful name you over heard at the park, Facebook horrors, and anything else that might give us a good chuckle! Feel free to comment, too.

Names of 2 walmart employees I encountered over the weekend:
Jery (Jerry with one r)- male, probably mid 40's
Pryde (like Pride but with a y)- female, probably 30's
I know a woman named Pride. She's pretty cool, but I wonder about her parents.
The lady who sold me my new car this weekend (SQUEE!) was named Season. I guess her parents didn't have a preference between Summer and Autumn?
I've never posted on this particular thread (I don't think) because I figure we all know people with crazy names, but I was browsing our365 this morning looking for a friend and came across some gems!
All of these are boys:
Legend
Knowledge
Crimson (I mean, I graduated from Bama and would NEVER do this!)
and...
Messiah
Yeah. Messiah is from Alabama. You guys probably didn't know that
Oscar born October 2011
Miscarriage at 8 weeks (August 2013)
DD due September 1, 2014

I've met a Season as well, several years back...made me wonder if it was the same girl, though at the time I think the one I met was living in GA.
When I worked direct marketing, I occasionally had to call a lady who worked for a greeting card company. Her name was Happy. She was aptly named. She also had a co-worker named Spring.
Maybe having a "cutesy" name was part of the job qualifications?
Ok, so this is not a REAL person, but I just have to share. I was watching a movie this weekend, and a girl on the show was named Carter.
It is so unfortunate that the producer/writer or whoever had to put a male name on a main character like that. You know there are some parents who are inspired by movies, books, etc. I really hope Carter is not the next name to go over to the girl side. Sadness.

I'm guessing not really.

Might be. She said she was from Georgia.
My mother is also a teacher, and told me the same story. i didn't believe her then, and I don't now.
However, she had a student a few years ago that she couldn't pronounce. The kid said her name was FiFi, but my mom said there were about 15 more letters, and way too many consonants. Even the child's mom admitted that they didn't know how to say it, but it looked pretty. they just called her FiFi. My mom had to make up a pronunciation so she could teach her how to spell her name, per state guidelines.
The year before she had a little girl named Wachovia. That one is true. i met her.
They must really love their bank.
EDD 1/31/11 m/c 6/21/11 miss you little circus peanut.
This might not make it any better as a name for a child, but I'm from the HQ town of (formerly) Wachovia Bank and it means "peace/brotherhood" for Moravians. Winston-Salem was a huge Moravian hub and thus the bank used the name.
On the hospital cradle roll a while back there was a baby Lucifer. I thought that was pretty awful.
