D.C. Area Babies

Intro

I'm not really in the DC area, about 2 hours away in Harrisonburg, but the VA board is so slow!  I've lived in this area since I was 5, before that it was VA Beach and I still have a lot of family there so we visit a few times a year.  I love visiting the DC area and DH's favorite aunt and uncle (haha, and mine too) live in Old Towne Alexandria so we visit NOVA a lot too.

I'm a SAHM and grad student, getting my MA in Ancient and Classical History.  DH and I have been married for 6 years.  DS is currently 4 months old and the light of our lives.  Oh, and we lived in Fairbanks, Alaska for a year.

Any suggestions on things to do with with an LO my age this summer?  We want to get up there at least a few times.  I just worry he'll be too young to enjoy the museums etc. like we do and he's definitely starting to get to the oint where he needs to be entertained.

  • Welcome!

I agree with pp, at this age it can be hard to find things to entertain the LO with, but you do want to get out there and do stuff.  I would still go for a museum trip or two--yes, you'll get more out of it that he will, but you can always incorporate some time outside on the Mall and let him experience sitting in the grass and people watching.  We took DD#1 to the kite festival when she was 6 months old and we had a great time taking funny pictures with her "flying" our kite--probably one of the most memorable things we did for her at that age.  Otherwise, lots of trips to the park are a good thing...and have you looked to see if there are some playgroups that you could meet up with?

    Good luck!

  • Welcome back! I think I remember you from the Nest, or maybe even the Knot!
