when did the flutters turn into Hiiyas?

I'm not sure if any of you are at this point yet but if you have other children i'd love to know!

I'm only getting the flutters still and nothing constant, I'm sure I won't feel the jabs/kicks for a little while but when did your little one start the full on kicking?

I'm just curious:)

  • Good Question!  I want to know, too... And when (if) did the movement start to keep you up at night?  I'm already having trouble sleeping!

Dear God, Since I couldn't hold my little one in my lap and tell him about you, could you hold him in your lap and tell him about me?

  • Hmm.  I can't put a finger on an exact time.  But I believe I could start feeling kicks and punches from the outside by 26 weeks last time.  And once you hit the third trimester those kicks start getting pretty uncomfortable.  DS loved kicking/punching on one side of my stomach while simultaneously sticking his butt out the other side, so my abdomen was literally going in two directions at once - painful!

  • It was around 22 weeks for me with my first. At 20 weeks i could see the little pops/kicks from the outside, but they weren't consistent.

I seem to be feeling this baby only once or twice every couple of days right now. My placenta is on top now, and it was on the back with my first, which may be why it seems like I'm feeling her less.

  • I am feeling lots of jabs and pokes - but still not quite strong enough to feel from the outside.  I think the "flutter" sensation went away a couple weeks ago, and now it is more defined movement.
  • I felt flutters from 17-19 weeks and then they started to feel more like pokes and jabs but not really very hard.

  • I was about 25w with DD when DH and I could both feel them from the outside.

  • With my son I was 22 wks pregnant when he started kicking a lot. Boy he was a kicker! The last time he kicked me was right before I delivered... and he kicked my lung and it knocked the air out of me. I notice that he has very strong legs now... and loves to jump. lol.

  • Mine are in transition from flutters to kicks I think right now. Although they always felt more like faint kicks than 'flutters' to me. Within the past week or so many have gotten a LOT harder & it's definitely more consistent & constant. She's more active at night usually (I keep weird hours), but I feel little kicking sessions several times a day I'd say. Although sometimes it's a lot harder & sometimes still quite faint.

Shockingly, DH felt her 2 days ago!! I did NOT expect him to be able to feel for a couple weeks still, but he insisted on wanting to try. Sure enough, all of a sudden his face freaked out & eyes got huge when she kicked! He was able to feel/pick them out without any help or indication from me, so I guess he can feel them lol! :) He was *really* excited.
