I'm knocking on wood, but I think we might *finally* be done with swaddling. DD is almost 8.5 months old and Friday night we put her in a Halo sleepsack instead of swaddle and she did OK. She hardly ever STTN as it is, and using the sleepsack, she did her usual wakeup around 2 AM but nothing out of the ordinary. We did this again for Saturday and last night and both went the same, so I think we're done with swaddling.
If you don't swaddle anymore, what do you dress baby in for bed? Sleepsack? Regular blanket? We're not sure what to do now that she doesn't need to be swaddled. Also, if we go with sleepsacks, how many should I buy? They're $20 each so I don't want to go crazy. Can I get away with 2?
Thanks!
Re: What does baby wear to bed? Sleepsacks? How many to get?
We have 3 sleepsacks. 2 fleece and 1 cotton. I picked up the cotton one on sale and figured it might come in handy this summer for a "lighter blanket". I like having at least 2 though... because then I can just swap them out when I want to wash, etc. He usually uses one for a few nights in a row and then I swap it.
I've noticed if he wears fleece pajamas and fleece sleep sack he gets clammy. So we've tried to get all cotton pajamas now. Those paired with the fleece sleepsack- perfection!
Good luck! I feel like it was a blessing in disguise when my DS started hating the swaddle at 1 mnth.
I have one, but we don't use it. He prefers to be free and just wear jammies.
DS twists and turns and flips so much in his sleep (he usually ends up with his head in the bottom corner of his crib) the sack gets twisted around aggrivates him
