My 14 mo old HATES shoes (crosspost)

Any tips for a mom of a 1 year old that hates shoes? I'm talking- kicks, screams, cries, won't take a step if they're on her feet- hates them. And "skidders" don't fool her.. ha ha...

    Just wanted to post a note that I've posted here before but it's been a WHILE! I'll re-introduce myself though. Originally from Harford County, my DH and I moved to Charlotte NC for 3 years where we got married Nov 2008 and had a baby girl in Jan 2010. We moved back home to Harford County MD last Feb (DD was 4 weeks old)and just settled into our first house 3 months ago. Smile

    Does she hate the way they feel or once you get them on her, is she ok in them?

    I would try letting her pick out the shoes she wants to wear and then teaching her how to put them on herself.  I've found that I have a lot more success in everything if I give Emily a choice.  I've also found that if I give her a choice of 2 things, it works a lot better than continuing to off her choices.  So in the morning, I hold up 2 shirts and ask her which she wants to wear, same thing with pants.  It makes getting dressed a lot less painful.
