Flashback: Did you have a Caboodle?

I saw a SPOSORED AD on Facebook for Caboodle, which cracked me up. And I may be going a bit stir crazy from being stranded on the couch all day with an achy ankle, but:

What did you put in YOUR Caboodle?! And if you didn't have one, how bitter are you that you never got to experience the pastel plastic glory?!?

My answer: I was a little young when they first came out, but I just HAD to have one, and my aunt and uncle got them for my sister and I for Christmas. I totally carried around my bangle bracelets, "Baby-Sitters Club" VHS movies (yeah, I *am* that awesome) and a freakin boatload of LipSmackers.

Re: Flashback: Did you have a Caboodle?

  • OMG yes!  I think at least a couple of mine/my sister's are still at my parent's house.  I think we used them for Barbie gear and I also used one of mine for my kiddie makeup (aka Wet n Wild and stuff like that.)  Total blast from the past!

  • Yes, I totally did. Mine was purple and it kept all the "super cool" jewerly.
  • LOL - I had TWO of them!  In the big one I had all my nail polish (speaking of: do you remember the Tinkerbell Bo-Po peel-off nail polish?) and lipsmackers and the Tiger Beat magazines that I hid from my parents/brothers.

In my little Caboodle I kept my jewelry - especially the long necklaces I would wear with my long tunic and/or flannel shirts and stirrup pants.

  • Um... I still have one from when I was in high school. It is under my bathroom sink and I use it only for storing makeup that I have that is rarely used or if I stock up on stuff. I have only used it for makeup storage. It's the big kind like your picture. It's purple and glittery :-) I don't even know why I still have it but it keeps Emma from getting into my extra makeup, so under the sink it will stay.

  • What do you mean past tense?!  I still have my black and white one.  No pastels for me, I needed to be bold.  I now keep rarely used makeup in it that I just can't toss - it's stuffed under the guest bed and comes out once in a blue moon.

Bonus is that I also have a old black and white sticker belonging to my friend's band from high school - "Heavier Than Air."  Shocking those guys didn't make it...with fans like me ;)

  • Heck yes, I had one! I wish I still had it!
  • Ahhh, Caboodles.  A testament to the power of marketing, since what that thing really is is a pretty colored tackle box.  Smile

I totally had a pink & purple one and I kept my rockin' makeup and scrunchies in it.  I used to make my own scrunchies.  One for every outift.  I wore the sh!t out of those scrunchies... on my wrist, of course.  They all stayed nicely organized in my Caboodle.

  • OMG....YES! Mine was purple and teal. Bringing me way back!

  • LOL yes, I think I stored makeup in it. I probably had more makeup back then than I do now. Big Smile
  • Argh! I can't remember what these things were called ... I found it purely by chance on Google ... You used them on the side of a shirt?!? I had MANY, and I totally stored them in my Caboodle!

  • I must be too old because I have no idea what these are.

  • I had a teal one and it's still at my mom's house. I kept all my makeup in it of course!
  • Awe.some!  I sure did, but for the life of me I can't remember what I kept in it.
  • I loved my Caboodle! I think mine is still at my parent's house too .. it was filled with nailpolish and makeup :)
  • I had an all pink one and I also kept all my hair stuff in it - ie, scrunchies, banana clips and an insane amount of dep hair gel.

Jaxy - that thingie is called a shirt slide I think.

This.  I've actually thought about buying a tackle box because I couldn't find a caboodle.

  • I still have mine. Looks exactly like the one in the picture. I have a whole bunch of random crap in it (some 90's hair clips, florescent band aides, and Clinque Happy). My kids love to take it out and play with the random stuff in it.

I have seen them at target :) But I bet you can find a million of them at goodwill. lol

  • Yessss! I loved my Caboodle! Your answer sounds like mine, Jaxy. I kept my dozens of LipSmackers (I tried to have every flavor), and my sweet collection of plastic jewelry. I would also pack it for sleepovers with my Wet n' Wild brand makeup so we could do our makeup (aka make ourselves look like street walkers) and of course plenty of hairspray bottles in there too so we could style our bangs into a sweet hairspray filled wave like structure. • No past tense here! I still have mine. It is teal. Back on the day I kept my crimping iron in it along with make up of course. LOVED that thing! I also had the matching medium size one, but I sold it on eBay last year. Lol.

I do remember that shirt tie Thingy. My mom bought me a fancy one from Hawaii, but that style was not really envogue At that time. So I never wore it.

  • I still have it! It was my moms and it's a faded purple. I kept it for years as it was because it smelled like my mom's old makeup and it was a great memory for me. I recently cleaned it up and put my own makeup it in. Now I'm styling vintage Cool

  • Holy flashback!! Heck yes I had one! It was a big one and it was purple on the top, I don't remember what color it was on the bottom though. I kept some cassette tapes in there (so I could wait by my boombox all day and record my favorite song off the radio!), my diary, my favorite jewlery, lip smackers, make up, beads I had to make my own jewlery, and the wax for my braces (lol).

I also had the shirt tie things Jenn!

  • I had that exact same one AND I had one of the bigger white ones.  The pink/blue one held my "make up" and the white one held all my nail polishes and manicure stuff. Woot!
