I've just moved into the city from the suburbs and I'm looking for a new OB-GYN. I have great health insurance (BCBS PPO) and trying to sort through all of the options is crazy! I live right by Advocate Illinois Masonic but we are thinking we want to deliver at Prentice (Northwestern). Any recommendations?
Re: Looking for a new OB-GYN in Chicago
When I was looking for a OB-GYM, I also knew I wanted to deliver at Northwestern so I called the Physician Referral Line found under the "Request an Appointment" button on the right hand side of the screen.

They put me in touch with a doctor based on how far along I was and who could accommodate my then crazy schedule for that first appointment. I was referred to a doctor at Chicago Women's Health group which is literally just a couple doors down from the hospital. I have yet to be disappointed with my experience there.
I am now 23 weeks along which means I will start to rotate through the other doctors in the practice so that if for some reason my doctor can't deliver our babe, I will be comfortable with the doctor on call and they will "know" me already.
I go to NYE partners as well. They're great. I delivered at Prentice (almost 5 weeks ago) and I have no complaints about anything! I met each one of the doctors before delivering and felt comfortable with all of them. The nurse practitioners are great too. Dr. Nye was on call when I delivered and she was awesome
I'll be delivering at Prentice as well.
I see Dr. Salasche at The Northwestern Specialists for Women on Kingsbury. One convenient thing is cheap parking right next door. I have also seen a few other dr.'s there when I had an emergency, they were all great, esp. Dr. Wise. I would definitely recommend them. www.nswobgyn.com
The Women's Group of Northwestern is also excellent.

I also go here, on my third pregnancy with them. Dr. Lui is my doctor but I've seen all of them. I really like the doctors and professional staff, but am not crazy about how the office is run (super busy, often put on hold for a LONG time when I call to make an appt or something, long lines a lot to check in/out, long waits). I have a lot of experience too, as I have weekly appts from 16 weeks on for my last 2 pregnancies. I don't switch because I had a late loss in my first pregnancy and really wanted to stay with my doctor who knew my history and was good with my anxiety and stress while pregnant and willing to see me a lot, etc. To me, it's worth dealing with the administrative hassle for the excellent medical care, but something to keep in mind.
This is the practice where I had to wait over 2hrs to be seen. That is not cool in my book. If you are too busy then reschedule me.
