Those with children in PT do they do good all the time?

I take DD to PT once a week since she had surgery on her hip. I think she is doing much better but the other day the therapist said she was worried because DD was having an off day being hyper and not focusing. I thought my DD was just being two but she be able to listen all the time when we are there? Thanks

  • My son does ST not PT but he has good days and bad ones. His ST is always very understanding when he is having a rough, hard day, she works with him and goes with the flow of what he wants to do. I don't think it is unsual to have off or bad days.

  • Being a PT and a mother, I think you should expect off days with any 2 year old. I think it is a little premature to say anything about one session when your daughter was unfocused. Hang in there!
  • My DD definitely has her really good days and other days where she wants to just play or not do anything at all.  The first month of PT when she was being forced to walk she would get the therapist such a hard time...lots of tantrums.  DD has a mind of her own and a lot of times wants to do things on her own mindset instead of what the therapist wants to do with her...and she will fight her on it.  At least the therapist has now figured out her personality and knows how to get her to work better.  We have seen tremendous progress and expect in the next 3-6 months to be caught up.
