DD's name is Mary Jane after my late MIL and several other great aunts, etc.
If we have a son, he'll be named Charles after my father.
I am stumped on girl names.
Clearly we tend for traditional names. We are Catholic and will probably use a saint's name (but that really doesn't narrow down things too much!). I think of both Mary and Charles as strong names.
Last name is tricky. Starts with E and is one short syllable.
If Charlotte wasn't so popular, it might be a pick (feminizing Charles out of tribute to my dad). But w/a daughter named Mary/Mary Jane, I really don't want one to have an ultra popular name and one to have a name rarely heard on playgrounds.
Ideas??
TIA

And I agree about Becca. But it makes me think of the 80s series Life Goes On which loved as a teenager!
Saint's names (or their feminine counterpart) from my list:
Margaret, Elizabeth, Bernadette, Magdalena, Bridget, Agnes, Victoria, Veronica, Monica, Barbara, Lucia/Lucy, Theresa, Geraldine, Georgiana, Joan
I love Mary btw.
As a less-common/popular feminization of Charles, have you considered Caroline?
We are Catholic too, and lean towards finding Saint names. Here are some of my faves (sorry for some repeats from PP's):
Therese (the least common version of Teresa and after my fave Saint "The little flower")
Veronica- Bonus: not popular right now
Cecilia
Magdelena
Juliana - I believe she is the Saint associated with Corpus Christi
Bridget
Rose - (of Lima or also the flower associated with both Mary and Therese)
Josephine - (St. Joseph)
Faustina - makes a great mn when paired with a shorter fn
Tabitha - I am pretty sure she is a biblical character (forgive me if I'm wrong!)
Priscilla - I know she in the Bible
Clare - Spelled the Franciscan way
Francesca
Bernadette
Jacinta (from Fatima)
Great list! I like Josephine a lot! DH is John Joseph.
