I am pretty sensitive to caffeine (I get jitters easily) but I do have one cup every morning. As far as I can see, it does not affect LO. However, my breasts and nipples are still very sore from nursing even though LO's latch is fine now. It doesn't appear to be thrush either. I just feel a lot of random pains throughout my breasts and horrendous letdown pain. In fact, sometimes the only time everything feels fine (even good) is when LO is nursing.
So I wonder if the caffeine could have something to do with my continued soreness. Easy to find out right, I just need to cut out that one cup. But it's my lifesaver these days!!!
Anyone else this "late" in the game still dealing with pain and trying to figure things out?
Re: Caffeine and sore breasts?
Hm, I don't see that there would be a correlation. But couldn't hurt to try!
Of course I am the exception to the rule, but my nips are still cracked
But they are soooo much better now. So yes, I still have pain... and there are often times I wonder if it will ever be pain free, cause DD has what the LC called a "chompy latch". So she chomps like an alligator instead of sucking nicely. Lovely. But as long as the nip heal I can deal, I think.
So I am on the dairy free train. It's really hard! I am going grocery shopping today, and did a meal plan for the week so it would be easier. Maybe I will lose weight now
Thanks for all the support lately! I haven't responded much, but I have read everything!
Let me know what your LC thinks! Mine says that I may be dealing with vasospasms (and those can be affected by caffeine by the way) because the tips of my nipples turn white a few times each day (usually after a shower). The general breast pain also worsens with temperature changes or f.ex. sitting in a drafty area.
Reese -- no worries about not responding to my replies, I know you are busy!
