Pre iui question...

I am on CD 9. I just finished my last 100mg dose if Clomid. Tomorrow I go in for a CD 10 monitoring, u/s and b/w. Then the say on CD to test for a surge on the opk. My re's office says not to pay attention to the directions on the box, to come.in if I have anything show up in the test window, it counts. Why is this?

    We are IUI buddys.... Im have the same exact thing going on, minus the fact that I'm taking 50mg Clomid. My Ob said the same about the Ovulation test, they dont want to miss anything is my guess. GL at your US tomorrow, I also have oneSmile

    They can more accurately monitor you than those OPKs.

    Since we go to the same clinic, I can answer. :) They want to make sure that as soon as you have a hint of a second line on an opk that you come in so that they make sure to catch you before you ovulate. I usually had a faint positive opk and would always call the surge line on the night of CD12 and go in the next morning for monitoring. If I wasn't ready to trigger then, I'd go back in a day or two for more monitoring. Good luck!

    I am taking Clomid and they also prescribed HCG, for the trigger. That's it.

    Oh ok. I hate living here in Huntsville, cause the satellite office has weird hours. But my sisters live in Bham, so I get to visit too... My sister is pregnant with twins , and they are inducing her wednesday, those are ART babies!

    Clear Blue Digital ovulation test.. Spendy but I wanted to make sure I didnt miss anything.

    Don't get the Clear Blue digitals.  You want to get a 2-line test since you're wanting to see the first hint of a second line... not just a smiley face.  You can go on Amazon or early-pregnancy-tests.com to get some cheaper than the dollar store tests.  If you don't have any yet though those may not get to you on time.

    I used the digital smiley face ones when we were on our own, but doing medicated cycles my clinic didn't want me using them.  Yes, you can pull out the stick to see the lines but they're not as accurate.  They're a blue dye which is supposed to be less sensitive than the pink dye ones.  Also when I've compared the pink 2-line cheapies to the lines I got on the digitals, the digitals were always lighter.  Just my experience, but I wouldn't waste my money on them and just buy some internet cheapies instead!  :)
