A typical day for Lila is something like 8 am, 11 am, 2 pm, 5 pm, 8 pm and then one late night feeding around 11, but sometimes she sleeps through and it's later (I do feed on demand, but this is just how it shakes out). She doesn't really cluster feed and she sleeps long stretches at night, so this is it. Is 6 times per day enough for a 2 month old? I know they say a newborn should nurse 8-12 times per day, but when do they cut back?
I guess I should know this as a third time mom, but Charlotte was still nursing around the clock and eating probably 12 times per day at 2 months, and Ava was BFing and supplementing--so I have no idea what a "normal" feeding pattern should look like. I always feel like I should be feeding her more often. I'm just concerned that she's not getting enough, especially now that she sleeps (almost) through the night.
Re: 2 month old breastfeeding patterns
Serena feeds 6-8 times a day and sleeps anywhere between 7-10 hours through the night, her last feed varies sometimes 11:30pm sometimes 1am and her feeds during the day are anywhere between 2-4 hours inbetween.
HTH
At two months, Nora ate every 3 hours almost exactly, and was sleeping about 6 hours at night. So yes, I'd say that's pretty typical.
Is Lila having a dirty diaper almost every time she eats?
