Hi Ladies,
If you are expecting #2, what is your plan for diet and exercise once baby gets here?
If you already have 2u2, what worked for you?
My plan:
I bought the Bob Revolution Duallie and plan on starting a couch to 5k program once I am cleared for jogging.
I also keep a food journal and will continue to do that.
I would love to join a gym, but I was too nervous to put DS in the gym day care until he was 11 months or so. Anyone do this earlier?
Re: getting your body back
DS2 just turned 2 weeks old today. We are done having kids, and I'm ready to have my body back. I signed up for Marine Corp Marathon (in October) back in February to get me excited to get back in shape. This is not going to be my first or last marathon, but it is my first since 1 week before I found out I was pregnant with DS1 back in January 2009.
I joined Weight Watchers when DS2 was 4 days old and am loving the point system. I have had no issues with my milk supply as of yet and don't think I will since you get extra points for nursing. I also started walking almost immediately (day 3 post partum). I'm up to 3-4 miles a day right now. I have also done some pilates although very modified at the moment. I also bought a Wink Ultimate Post-Partum Compression Suit that is AMAZING. My uterus has gone back in size (and isn't pooching out at all!) way faster this time than with DS1 and I thank the suit. I got the one that goes down to the thighs.
That's all I got.
Bob recommends that LO be 8 months before jogging.
DS was pretty sick for the first 8 weeks and screamed up to 18 hours a day. I didn't have time nor the will to eat. I was 10 lbs pre-preg weight by my 6 week check up. I looked like someone "shot at me and missed, sh@t at me and hit". Definitely not a recommend weight-loss plan. I am now needing to lose about 15 lbs. I don't have time for a gym, the weather isn't nice enough in the winter for walking and we have a small house.
I just ordered this:

In the beginning I was so busy that I just didnt want to start worrying about diet and exercise. Once DS2 was 8 months old I finally got to the point that I wanted to lose the weight.
I did the South Beach diet, which works really well for me. No coutning or measuring portion sizes and I always felt full. And you see results fast, and that is what I needed to stay motived. I lost 30 pounds and have kept it off for nearly a year now. As for exercise, I work full time and dont have too much time for the gym. So I was doing the 30 Day Shred. It is a great work out, and only lasts 25 minutes. I can find time for that!
Good luck!!
Well, I can't say I got my body back, but I got back to the weight I was before pregnancy.
What I do is throw on some Reebok Easytones, wear DD in a carrier, push DS in the stroller and go for a walk. We do about 45 minutes a day, plus we stop at a playground and I play with DS while wearing DD. Something fun and easy to do with both kids.
i was back to my pre preg weight by about 7 months, but felt good at 5 months...i took lots of walks, upped the amount of water i drank, and cut down on meats...did jillian michaels 30 day shred...at 8 months, i started going to the gym- sometimes at night and sometimes leaving BOTH boys in childcare (wouldn't stay longer than 45minutes though)....i am one week away from DS#2 being a year old and i finally feel great!! i'm at a good weight- still 5 from where i would like to be before having #3....but i'm back.
i enjoyed my life and my boys and didn't push the weight loss this time around and i'm happy with how it all came off....
i still have baby flubb in my stomach, but when i tighten my abs it doesn't roll, only when i bend over...i am not focused on abs too much though bc i plan on having another baby and they will stretch out again!
good luck!!! enjoy your babies and don't worry too much about it!
i would do 30day shred during the babies 1st nap, while the older one played or before they woke up or after the baby was in bed and daddy was putting the older one to bed.....you'll find a way to fit it in
