step stools?

What step stool do you have for your LO? I was looking at some of the two step stools (kid kraft) and they are about 40 dollars! I am looking for something a little less expensive...any suggestions?

  • my mom got us a cute red one from Target. I think it was about $15. It was in the child bath/bedding section.

  • They have one at Ikea, it's wooden and I think it's $20.  We plan to get one, just haven't made a trip there yet.  My brother and SIL have this one.  It's a 2 tier one.

  • I was just at Walmart and they had some marked down on clearance to $9.  They were with the spring cleaning display.  They were the folding kind, but they seemed really stable and secure when locked in place.  They said they'd hold up to 300 lbs.

  • Check TJ Maxx or Home Goods. That's where we got ours for about $20 or $25.
  • We have the two step stool from Target.  It is more expensive than the single, but we have adult height sinks and toilets so we needed it.  The single steps were not enough for DD in the bathroom.  We use a inexpensive single step Rubbermaid one for her to turn on the lights or look out the windows.
  • For the sink my Dad made her a simple two stepper. For the toliet she uses the simple plastic one I got from BRU it is slightly curved so it fits well. She can actually get on and off without it but she does better with it. She could probably use the same one for the sink but the two stepper makes it easier for her to turn on the water herself which she likes to do. Target had some nice ones last time I was there.
