I know you get tons of questions about double strollers, i checked 7 pages looking for answers and thanks to those posts I know what to ask next. please humor me and share your wisdom!
Did you find it really useful to have a stroller that works with your infant seat? Seems like many just wear their youngest, so I wonder if it's worth the extra expense.
in that note, did you find you needed the double stroller right away, or would you have been ok waiting? (as a side note, LO2 will be born in May, we may want to be out and about during summer)
For those whose LO1 is very visual (mine is, loves looking around during walks), did you have complains from them being in the back seat of tandems? or did you set them up in front? I ask because it seems like there's more room for an infant seat in the front, which would mean LO1rides in the back. I'm fully aware that I could be wrong!
last one: which one is your absolute favorite ?
If this helps, our LOs will be 16 months apart, boy and girl
Thank you for your replies! I mostly lurk but find great comfort knowing I'm not the only one that freaks out at this stage.
Re: another stroller post
Mine are 12 months and 18 days apart. We had a double stroller (the BJ City Select) from the beginning, but I mostly wore DD2 until she was about three months old. Now she is five months and we use the double a lot. We do have the infant seat adapter and it is very useful for us. We walk to church, and it's particularly useful there, because she is usually asleep by the time we get there, and we can just carry the infant seat into church.
I do not recommend the City Select for a number of reasons that I won't go into right now. But one of the reasons we initially chose it over the Phil and Teds (which have the second seat in the back, behind the first seat) was because we didn't think DD2 would enjoy staring into the back of the seat in front of her.
We were wrong. We are currently borrowing a friend's P&T and DD2 LOVES sitting in the jump seat. We've heard this from everyone else we know who has a P&T, and I didn't believe it, but apparently kids think it is super fun to sit back there. She looks around from side to side and takes everything in.
We will be selling our CS and getting a P&T.

Ours are 15.5 months apart and my DD (#2) was also born in May. For the first 2ish months, we mostly used the single and I wore DD. We bought a Bumbleride Indie Twin, which has the carseat adapter, but I rarely used it. For walks outside, it was too hot to have her in the infant seat over the summer, and I rarely use the double stroller when I am going somewhere in the car (I bring the snap and go and DS helps me push, or I wore DD and have DS in the single stroller or shopping cart). So for us, it was not necessary to have the adapter at all.
I will say, when we started using the double in August, I couldn't believe we waited so long. It is much easier to push the two of them than it was to wear DD and push DS (especially in the summer when it was so hot wearing a baby!)
I have no info on the tandems, since we don't have one, but we love our side by side...we can fit through most doors, and the kids love sitting next to each other. We use it at least 3 times a week, throughout the winter with the snow and everything.
