hives from Free & Sensitive Bounce dryer sheets? nbr

It's only new thing I've used recently and the past two days I've broken out in small hives on my arms, legs and back. I've taken Benadryl and they clear up after about an hour, but they itch like crazy when I do have them and are driving me nuts!

Anyone else actually allergic to products made to avoid allergic reactions?!

  • Yep.  Welcome to crazy skin club!  Smile   We just avoid anything new around here!  The Dove sensitive skin deodorant was by far the worst allergic reaction I've ever had!

  • So weird! I got hives on my face a few weeks ago and just again tonight. I was talking to my husband about what it could be and I came on and read your post. Like an hour ago I started a load of baby clothes in the dryer and put a Free and Sensitive dryer sheet in with the clothes. I will have to watch and see if that is what is doing it.

It's so annoying!! This is supposed to make people NOT break out in hives!

  • Ugh, that sucks!  I've noticed that some of the so so called sensitive of whatever - diapers, laundry detergent, soaps - have extra cr@p in them.  Um, no thanks!  I just stick to the perfume/dye free & keep my fingers crossed.  We are a house of sensitive buggers.

Me too! I have pretty severe allergies to any scented detergents, plus I am allergic to ALL dryer sheets- even free/clear ones. I think it's the chemical IN the dryer sheets that does It to me.

last time I had a reaction DH had been using sensitive dryer sheets just on his clothes. I had to rewash ALL our clothes and bleach the dryer. Fun stuff!

But I can use the regular ones with no hives! They are the only new thing I've used so I'm assuming it's from them.
