I'm not a fan of last names as first names in general, but I understand the appeal of this one for others.

I think of the Civil War general Philip Sheridan.
Of the last names, this is not the worst. I could be persuaded to like it if it were mom's maiden name or another close family name. Not a big fan of just using random last names, though.

One of my mom's daycare moms considered this for her third child (if she was a girl); she was a boy.
I actually think it's lovely, but the fact that it's a hotel chain puts a huge damper on the name for me.

I think of Nicollette Sheridan. Used as a first name I would have thought it was for a boy but I guess I can see it more for a girl now. Still don't like it though.
