A little girl about 3-4 came into where I work today with this name. She was so cute. I really like it ! What do you guys think ? I just wanted to share a nice name for a girl, this is for all of you ladies looking for nice girl names !

I think of the Civil War general Philip Sheridan.

Of the last names, this is not the worst. I could be persuaded to like it if it were mom's maiden name or another close family name. Not a big fan of just using random last names, though.

One of my mom's daycare moms considered this for her third child (if she was a girl); she was a boy.

I actually think it's lovely, but the fact that it's a hotel chain puts a huge damper on the name for me.

I know a little girl named Sheridan. She goes by Sheri. The first place I heard it is on a soap opera when I was like thirteen or so and I stayed with my oldest sister for a couple of weeks (she was a huge fan of this soap opera... what was it? Passions?) Anyhoo... I always wonder if this little girl's mom was a huge fan of soap operas. Honestly, I don't like the name much.

It's just ok for me. There's a huge thoroughfare in my city called Sheridan so for me the association with a street is a negative.

I think of Nicollette Sheridan. Used as a first name I would have thought it was for a boy but I guess I can see it more for a girl now. Still don't like it though.

I don't really mind it...it is just like all the other citys that become names. Sheridan is also a city in Wyoming. I think its cute!

I think it is dreadful, especially for a girl! Are her parents Sheri and Dan? I just don't get surnames as fns if it isn't a family name.

One of my closest friends is using Sheridan as her son's middle name because it's her husband's middle name. If it wasn't a family name, I think it's bad.

Does anybody watch Keeping Up Appearances on BBC? Sheridan was Hyacinth and Richard's son (whom is never actually seen, but the implication is that he is quite effeminate). That's my association wih the name.
