April 2011 Moms

wont be having a april baby :/

So today i went to the doctor and they got my urine results back and she said that i am boarder line pre-elampcia (sp) and that she wants me to come back on monday and if my blood pressure is still high monday she will induce me monday. If my blood pressure is not high on monday she is going to induce me later in the week. she said that the way they treat people with pre e is to put them on bedrest until they are full term (37 weeks) and ill be 37 weeks on monday.I feel so unprepared to have a baby! I just had my mind set they we have 3 more weeks at least left to get everything we need to get done. There are still boxes in my room that need to be unpacked from when we moved. We need to put the swing together.. hang things in the nursery etc. Which is all really hard to do when you have to be on bed rest for the weekend. I just feel a little over whelmed. And im worried about the baby. I know that ill be "full term" but he will still be so small. He is measuring 5lb 13 oz right now and i know thats just a guess so really we dont know how big he will be. I feel like i need to run out a buy pre-me clothes. Im really nervous. I really hope he will be ok. :/

  • Aw, I know you must be overwhelmed but I'm sure it will all work out fine. A healthy baby is all that counts.

FWIW, I had DD1 at 37 weeks and she was 6lbs7oz. She was a peanut but totally healthy and adorable.

    Good luck!

  • Breathe momma - you'll be fine. It's a good thing they caught it and they are taking it seriously! I'm sure that was a whole lot of information to take in all at once, though. Try to relax and do what you can this weekend. Your LO won't come out demanding a fully-decorated nursery so don't freak out about the little things. Enjoy your last weekend pre-baby and relax, relax, relax.

Keep us updated!! You'll be in my T&P's for low BP on Monday so your LO can cook as long as possible. GL!

  • Make your DH do all the last minute things and you sit in the chair in the nursery... relax as much as possible this weekend!

I was induced for high BP with DS#1 at 37w4d and he was 6lbs 12oz. When we came home he dropped down to 6lbs 1oz and was a tiny peanut but you would never know looking at him now ;)

Hang in there and relax as much as you can!

  • Coming from one who just had her baby at 37w 2d, it will all be okay. It's so scary and overwhelming. Hang in there. Your little guy is prepared to enter the world. I had the same thoughts. Don't worry about the things left to do, however, I was the same way. Once you're holding your little one, you won't care. Things get done when they get done. ((hugs))

  • Overwhelming, I'm sure! Try not to worry. I felt like I had to have EVERYTHING done with my first, and then we got home from the hospital and I realized just how much time you spend sitting around in a daze. Your DH can certainly set up the swing once the baby is home, and you can still hang things up.

Good luck, and try not to worry! Be thankful you have a proactive, informed doctor.

  • hang in there. i'm sure your feeling overwhelmed, but trust me, it will be ok. we had nothing, i mean absolutely nothing ready for our baby. the day after she was born my husband had to go home and create room for her. he and our parents also ran to the store to get clothes for her as well as a carseat. its been crazy but you just get things done as you need to.
