  • Do a HPT and go from there. If it positive Congrats, if its not you have your answer.

  • Yes, it is possible to spot or bleed and still be pregnant (it's not really your period if you are pregnant but may seem like it). The only way to know is take a test. Good luck!

Yes, although first morning urine is recommended. But if you are past your period time you are probably ok to take it any time.

This is good advice. It might be spotting and not a full blown period. Good luck to you!

  • you have a problem with this?
  • Chances are if you had a period your not PG.  You may have O sooner than you thought this month.  If you think you are take a HPT.  My period is between 26-29 days so it can vary every month.

  • No. It is NOT possible to have your period and be pregnant. However, it IS possible to have spotting or early pregnancy bleeding when you're pregnant. The only way to really know is to take a HPT.

I'm guessing you're talking to me. I just don't understand why you are asking what you should do if you're unsure if you're pregnant. So my question still stands: seriously?!

  • More than likely it was your period. It could be implantation bleeding. The implantation bleeding usually occurs six to ten days after the ovulation and it lasts for one or two days.

If you are TTC I would suggest for you to start charting. fertilityfriend.com lots of great tid bits, videos and reads there.

    Best of luck to you!!

Actually.... I had what looked and felt like a full blown period. Started my new cycle. Started spotting on CD9 only to find out I was pregnant. Lost the baby but they still don't know why I had such a giant bleed. They said maybe it was an implantation spotting but this was full on bleeding like my period. We will never know. However....my situation is not normal but it can happen.

I've been known as many other ladies to POAS after your period  because you get the notion stuck in your head. If you have to POAS do it and clear your head for the next cycle. Good luck.

Exactly. It was like your period. It was NOT, in fact, a period, since you were pregnant. You CAN have early pregnancy bleeding, implantation bleeding, and annovulatory bleeding that are like a period, but they are NOT a period.

  • what should you do? I'd start with a pregnancy test. If it's positive, move along to 1st tri.

And no, you can't get a period and be pregnant. You can bleed, but it's not a period. You're welcome.

Yes. I understand however my point is that you can still bleed LIKE a period and be pregnant (unknowingly) thinking you "had" your period which is the point I was making. Until you know your pregnant if it bleeds like a period and felt like a period the only thing most women would refer to it as is a period.

If a "period like bleed" is even semi common as my RE's tried to steer it to then there needs to be a lot more education to women who are looking for/expecting possible implantation spotting but get a full blown "period like bleed" then thinking it's their period and moving onto the next cycle.

I'm just trying to shed the light on the part that you can bleed like a "period" and be pregnant and will reference it as a period until proven otherwise aka get a positive HTP after the "period".  The only thing we are debating is that the OP should have said "Can I bleed like a period but still be pregnant?"
