How old for cheerios?

Z loves to feed himself.  We have already given him teething biscuits (under strict supervision) and he does fine.  Can I give him cheerios?

    Have you tried puffs yet?  They dissolve very easily.  My DS is almost 7 months and I'm not comfortable with Cheerios quite yet.  If you decide to introduce them soon maybe start by cutting them in half?

    I haven't tried it yet, but our pediatrician suggested it to us this week.

    I would start with puffs first also.  They dissolve fast so there is less worry about choking.

    Carson Henry, born 39w, 2d, via emergency c/s due to no fetal movement and fetal distress.  Seizures, IVH grade 2, brain injury, kidney and liver damage.  Complete blood clot in the artery in his right arm.  27 days in the NICU.  Now discharged from all specialists, excepts his kidney doctor, who will monitor him indefinitely.  My tough little cookie.

    Ok!  Heading to BRU today to buy an umbrella stroller for our vacation, so I will pick up some puffs too.  Thank you!!

    Chase has had puffs and cheerios since about 5 months- he eats both fine.

    I'm not crazy about the MumMum's.  I know a lot of mommas on here use them, but my DS breaks off huge chunks and I am forever doing the finger sweep trying to get them out of his mouth!

    I started Cheerios this week and she LOVES them. The first day I did break them in half but she could handle them whole. We have been doing MumMums for awile now.

    Not sure how much they are at BRU but I get mine at Walmart for around $2 a container of them. You might just want to compare prices because if your LO is like mine you could end up going through a container a week.

     I also LOVE the yogurt melts for DS. It's so funny when I get the package out and start opening it he gives me this look like he is a puppy waiting for his treat :)

    My DS bites off big chunks as well but he always spits them out. Sometimes he'll suck on them till they dissolve but for the most part he spits them out. I was always afraid of puffs, maybe we will give those a try as well.

    DD was doing great with puffs starting at 5 months, and her pedi said we could start cheerios at 6. We did, and she choked and puked. I always have them cut in half from now on!
