How many days of bedrest after ET? *SAIFW/PAIFW*

Sorry, I can't find a recent poll on this.

I'm starting a new job (well, going back to an old job) around the time I am supposed to start stims, and I want to let them know realistically how much time I will need.

How many days on bedrest were you ordered?

I have a desk job.

11/10: IUI #1 =100mg Clomid CD4-8 + pregnyl trigger + IUI = chemical pregnancy
1/11: IUI #2 = 5mg Femara + trigger + IUI = BFN
2/11: IUI #3 = injectibles + trigger + IUI = BFN
IVF #1 April 2011 ER 4/23 w/16 eggs retrieved, 14 mature, 11 fert., 4 blasts to freeze, 5dt of 2 blasts on 4/28, beta #1 5/7 = 243... beta #2 5/9 = 491....beta #3 5/11 = 1113!!

    Every RE seems to recommend something different.  Some just want you to take it easy, others want 3-5 days strict bedrest.

    I took the the day after ET off.  I also have a desk job, so no heavy lifting or anything like that.

    My RE says day of and the day after for bed rest.

    My  RE says to take it easy the day of the transfer. i've used so much time in previous cycles, that I worked 9a-7pm the day after my ET this time.

    Wedding Fall 2007 Off OCP's since 9/08-started with BBT charts Saw Ob/gyn May 2009 Blood work normal except single copy of MTHFR Clomid 50mg May 2009 Clomid 50mg + IUI June 2009 Femara 5mg + IUI July 2009 Normal HSG July 2009 Femara 5mg + ovidrel+IUI August 2009 Femara 5mg +ovidrel + IUI September 2009 November 2009-normal lap December 2009-met with RE December/January-Injectible med cycle with IUI-Abnormal sperm morpology found-only 0-1% normal All Head defects. Jan/Feb 2010 1st IVF with ICSI-5 week chemical pregnancy :( Feb 2010-male infertility doc says DH's anatomy and blood work are normal so nothing he can do. :( FET July 2010-BFP! Twin m/c @ 5.5 wks :( Dec/Jan 2011 IVF #2 Only 4 eggs retrieved-Ganirelix dose messed up BFFN Feb/March 2011 IVF #3 ER 3/9 9 eggs, 7 fertilized, ET 3/14, No frosties. BFN IVF #4 ER 8/22 9R,7F ET 8/25-3 embies, 1 frostie! Beta 9/2= 54, 9/6=274, 9/8=625, 9/12=2953, 9/16 greater than 10,000. B/G TWINS born April 2012 @ 36wks & 1 day! July 2014-going back for the frozen embryo! ET 7/28, heartbeat seen at 6wks1day with SCH. Miscarriage confirmed at 6wks4days

    Ask your clinic. I'll have 3 days strict bedrest post ET.

    2011 Treatment:
    IVF w/ICSI #1 Antagonist: 2 blasts - c/p - BFN 04.22
    FET #1: 1 blast/1 early blast - BFP 06.22 - m/c 06.30 @6w0d
    07-11 RPL: MTHFR C677T Heterozygous & Slightly elevated ACLA IgM
    FET #2: 1 morula - BFN: 9.02

    January '12: IVF #2
    Started BCP and Metformin (New!) 12-14 for stimming in January

    My RE asked that I just take it easy the following day - I have a desk job too. I decided to take the day after off just because I felt like we'd done so much to get the that point that I didn't want to mess anything up. GL!

    This is my thinking too.  And I don't want to take not enough days off.

    I took the day of ER off and stayed mostly off my feet.  The next day I took it easy but I did go to work.

    My Dr requires 3 days of bed rest, including the day of ET. Mine was on Wed so I actually have 5 days of rest since I have the 2 weekend days. But having cabin fever so I think I'll go run errands today but still take it easy.

    I take it easy the day of, and take the day of work to accommodate acu before/after ET, but no bed rest is required.

    3 days, strict bedrest. No shower until the 4th day. Good luck! When are you starting your cycle? PM if you still need meds!

    CB you're so sweet!  Thanks!  I think I remember you saying you used Bravelle and Menopur though?  I am on Follistim/Gonal, Luveris, Lupron, and then the array of other oral meds (oh joy).

    I took it easy the afternoon after my transfer but still went out to dinner with friends that night.  So, basically, I didn't do any.

    Kelly, Mom to Christopher Shannon 9.27.06, Catherine Quinn 2.24.09, Trey Barton lost on 12.28.09, Therese Barton lost on 6.10.10, Joseph Sullivan 7.23.11, and our latest, Victoria Maren 11.15.12

    Secondary infertility success with IVF, then two losses, one at 14 weeks and one at 10 weeks, then success with IUI and then just pure, crazy luck.  Expecting our fifth in May as the result of a FET.

    Both REs that I used for IVF said take the day of ET/day after off and to be a couch potato.  No strict bedrest and no restrictions on showering.  Just take it easy and no lifting over 10 lbs.

    For my first 3 IVF/FET cycles, I did extra bedrest, was afraid to move, and jsut was a mummy.  Those were BFNs. For the last cycle, I didn't go to work the day after ET, but I did clean my kitchen, walk around, play with the cat, made dinner and lifted my dutch oven,  and was just basically a normal person home from work.  That was my BFP...

     I don't think there's any correlation b/w bedrest and success.

    Every RE seems to be different, but for me it was no bed rest at all. They told me to take it easy the day of, but resume normal activity(minus excercise and sex) the next day. On the day of my ET(s) I did self ordered bed rest but got up for bathroom and dinner...next day, back to work!

    My clinic doesn't recommend bedrest, just taking it easy the day of the transfer and then back to normal activity.  With my IVF, I kind of played couch potato the day of ET then was back to work the next day (I think), although I may have teleworked since that was a normal telework day for me.  I did wind up with a nasty cold sometime during my 2ww and I wound up being out sick a couple days, but I think that may have been the week after my transfer. 
    2004-Started TTC; Nov 2007-Lap with endo removed; Jan 2008-Ectopic (mtx); April 2008-IVF #1 (bfp, twin girls); March 2011-FET (cp); June 2012-IVF #2 (bfp, singleton, EDD 3-19-12)

    Ditto PP that every RE has different reccs. For my RE, I was ordered to do 24 hours "modified" BR, meaning I could get up to use the BR, make/get something to eat & for anything else necessary. I just kinda took it easy & laid down on the couch most of the day. I got pregnant that 1st (IVF/ICSI) cycle.

    It's been a long journey. TTC since 9/06. multiple IUI's and IVF's and 4 m/c's. IVF#3 = BFP, twins, induced at 34w6d due to baby b passing away (no explanation). Delivered on 35w1d, Baby A - baby girl, and Baby B - baby boy, our little angel.
