Moms of Two - Stroller ?

We have a jogging stroller, our travel system stroller, a snap & go and an umbrella stroller (which is pink, so if we have a boy, we'll get rid of it). Emma will be 3 1/2 when this baby arrives, but I'm not sure if that's means she'll still want to ride in a stroller. I thought about a sit-n-stand, but DH doesn't think she'll need to be in a stroller by the time the baby comes. I don't want to waste money on a stroller that may not get used, so I thought I'd ask some of you what's worked for you! Thanks!

Re: Moms of Two - Stroller ?

  • My bestie currently has a 2 year old and a 3 1/2 year old. She says that her 3 1/2 year old almost REFUSES to go in the stroller - he would much rather walk.  I know every kid is different, but maybe wait and see how she is a month or two before?

We are going to check out this stroller today - I'll let you know what we think: https://www.amazon.com/Baby-Jogger-Double-Black-87171/dp/B00435RTXO/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1300556352&sr=8-9

  • Have you considered a ride along board for your primary stroller? K stopped wanting to ride in the stroller at 2.5 so we didn't get much use out of our double.
  • We have a Sit and Stand. L is 3.5 but still rides in the stroller because he is small and people tend to run over him, also if I'm by myself it jus easier to have them both in the stroller.

  • We have a sit n stand. Ben will still ride on it. He likes it. My advice would be to just wait and see what you need then. I keep our regular single stroller and the sit n stand in the car. I use the single a lot more often. But the sit n stand has been nice to have.

All of this exactly. Wait and see, Syd stopped using the stroller before Sarah was born but when she saw baby sister in the stroller she suddenly wanted to be in it again so I got a sit n stand when Sarah got too heavy for me to carry her all the time.
  • That's a good point - Ben loved getting to stand in the sit n stand when Cooper was in the infant seat because they could look at each other.  He would ask me to bring that stroller for just that purpose.

  • I got a double off CL and used it a handful of times. It was great in the summer getting out on my own with both boys.  W was in the carseat and M was ok sitting for specific reasons, in and out at times. It was great to have as M is a total boy; runs, hides, and pushes limits.

I sold it at the Bumpie Fair. We just have our graco travel system stroller now, since I also sold our travel one.

When we were at Disney I wished our double had been a side by side, so M could hop on when needed. If you are going to travel alot might be worth selling some of yours and getting that style.

  • Thought I would add that if you do want a double, a highly recommend one that converts to a single.we really enjoyed our P&T Vibe and only sold it a few months ago because we figured it would be our last chance to sell it for what we paid for it. Now I wish I would have held on to it!.

All of this for us too. I got a Joovy Caboose for $50 on CL. I used it all the time when dd was tiny, and now we are getting back into it now that she can sit up on her own and I dont need the carseat attachment.

  • My kids are all 2 years apart. I have 1 (single) stroller, and a chariot cougar 2 (bike trailer/jogging stroller), and one ergo carrier. Using them single or in combination I have never wished for anything else.
    Mama to Z - 5.5 years, G - 3.5 years, & M - 1.5 years.
  • Cruz is 3 1/2 and a double stroller would be a waste of money for us! He wants to push the stroller or he stands on the front of the stroller system stroller. Haven't needed one yet.

  • Thank you so much for all of the help, ladies! I think I'll hold off on making any decisions until we get closer to my due date or maybe even after.

  • Phil & Ted's inline w/ doubles kit -  it's great as a single or double.

  • We haven't bought one yet and I'm not sure we really need one. We just got back from a walk - DD rode her trike and I pushed the snap and go with DS in it.
