If you've done ivf, which have you done? Once there are embryos, will they even know which ones were fertilized w/ICSI vs not? And do they elect to transfer in the one(s) that were not ICSI'd?
Just looking to hear your experiences.
Also, if you did this, what was the fertilization rate with natural vs ICSI?
Thanks ladies

Re: ICSI v "natural" fertilization (paifw/saifw)
The RE at the clinic with whom I did both of my IVF cycles does ICSI with everyone. They do a high resolution selection of sperm for ICSI and don't see any benefit to "natural" fertilization.
~SAIF/PAIF/Everyone Welcome~
Me= 37 and DH = 41
Dx: DOR, Endo, APA+ (really high beta 2 glycoprotein antibody and high everything else tested), heterozygous MTHFR mutation, positive for lupus anticoagulant, high FSH, low AMH and both tubes blocked (per HSG on 3/8/11)
IVF #1 - long lupron (with HGH, intralipids, lovenox and BA); 4 retrieved, 3 fertilized; ET 2 blasts and 1 frozen = BFN
IVF #2 - a version of antagonist with EPP (with HGH, intralipids, lovenox and BA); 6 retrieved, 4 mature, 3 fertilized, 2 blasts and 1 frozen blast transferred on day 5 = BFN.
IVF #3 April was postponed to May, May was canceled. June/July was canceled. Had a cyst aspiration and then began IVF #3 in August. ER on 8/22; ET on 8/24 with AH. +HPT on 9/5. Thanks ST. I'm going to ask my RE/nurse about this and whether they do it too.

MH's motility was a little slow so they split my eggs in half and ICSI's half and the other eggs were "naturally" fertilized. Both fertilized exactly the same amount. The naturally fertilized ones ended up doing a little bit better than the ICSI'd ones, but it was really close. Good luck!
Edit: They kept track of the 2 groups. I don't know which ones they put back in. I don't think it made a difference, really. I had a 5dt of 2 blasts.
Dx: LPD, underdeveloped follicles, blocked left tube
3 C/P, 1 BO, 1 Ectopic
IVF#1=BFN (3/11)
FET#1=BFP
This exactly per my RE at my clinic.
Although my DH had normal SAs, we did half ICSI and half natural fertilization just in case. They did kerp the two groups separated. Te ICSI group did slightly better than the natural fert group so the two blasts we transferred were ICSI'd.
ETA: The fertilization rate was the same for both groups.

TTC Since 10/2007 with no luck and a 'go with the flow' attitude
1/1010 FINALLY decided to have testing done, dx MFI
7/2010 - DH starts Clomid to increase testosterone and hopefully sperm count
10/2010 - Still low (but improved) sperm count.
11/30/10 - IUI #1 and only = BFN
February 2011 - IVF #1 w/ ICSI =
Chemical PG (Beta 1: 10, Beta 2: 19, Beta 3: 17) :-(
April 2011 - IVF #2 w/ ICSI = BFN :-(
September 2011 - IVF #3 w/ ICSI = BFFN
November 2011 - AMH level tested - .83 (normal for age range)
February 2012 - IVF #4 w/ ICSI = (best response ever yet still) BFFN
April 2012 - DNA testing - NORMAL, RE suggests cycling again with own eggs or using DE
On Break indefinitely...not sure we can afford the emotional and financial roller coaster anymore.

?SAIF/PAIF/PgAL/PAL always welcome?
We did all ICSI, but we were also dealing with MFI. Out of 6 mature eggs, 5 fertilized and 4 made it to blast (transferred 2 and froze 1).
Good luck!
Due to our MFI diagnosis, they ICSI'd 100% of my eggs.
