Is this true re: twins?

Twins have to run down the mother's side to be hereditary?  My FIL is an identical twin!  (So is dh's uncle.  lol)  Surprise

    Fraternal twins are hereditary & must run on the mother's side.  They are determined by her ovulating two eggs and both being fertilized.

    Identical twins are random.  So FIL being an identical twin has no bearing on your eggs.
