I think I ripped my insides in half

Oh my goodness, did that hurt. I was getting out of my car at the grocery store and I felt like my entire right side was ripped in half. Is that the dreaded RL pain? I had to stop and just stand there, and even bend over to get some relief. It even hurt to walk! I went straight to the restroom and peed and felt better (weird, I thought). Since then, if I stand up fast, I get a reminder of that pain. RL pain?

Re: I think I ripped my insides in half

  • Yes, unfortunately that's it. As long as it goes away, it's RL pain. I coughed the other night and it felt like my entire insides were going to come out. I had to cough again but I tried holding it in because I knew it would hurt.

The joys of pregnancy. Or not.

  • I have had some of the WORST RL pain for two days... it finally went away last night.  I even went to the DR bc I was getting concerned.  They made me take a pee test to just make sure I didn't have a bad UTI.  The DR told me to rest as much as I could and try some stretching and to use a heating pad but no longer than 15 mins at a time.

  • Mine is on my right side, though. Not like my hip side, but my uterus side and over to the right even more. So I this couldn't be confused with a UTI. It hurts every time I walk and get up and only goes away when I sit down. I thought RL pain was quick and sharp and more centered towards the middle of everything? Why does this have to be so confusing? lol

  • lol who knows but its annoying either way.  Mine was literally for two days straight.  it was from from my right lower back all the way around and down to my lower pelvic area and only on my right side.  The dr said it normally does both sides at once but not to worry.  I am just glad it is finally gone.  It had me VERY short tempered for the last two days bc the pain was so bad.

Hmmmm.... at first I was sure you were describing RLP....  getting out of the car is usually the time it strikes for me too, esp if I try to jump out too fast.  But mine typically goes away after 15 min or so...

  • Yup RLP for sure, isn't it just breath-taking? Watch out for coughing, sneezing and lifting too!
