NBR- probably getting laid off.. what to do to start over...

I don't even know what to do with myself.. I was just told that I probably wont have a job possibly as early as 2 weeks from now... what do I do??? I don't know what to do.. how to start over... my mind is just spinning right now...Where do I go from here??

    First you need to update your resume.  Then you need to ask your employers for letters of recommendation.  Then you need to network.  Use colleagues of your boss to ask around to see who is hiring and also ask your boss if you can be relocated or find another position for you.

    Get on linkedin.com and set up your profile...tons of recruiters and employers use it now. It will also help you reconnect with people from your past and help you network and broadcast your availability. ;)

    All this as a first step.  Then if you find you do need to job hunt work on your interview skills and sign up on indeed.com  It pulls all open jobs from everywhere they're posted and you choose the positions you want to get updated openings on.  I know another poster mentioned Linked In.  Definitely do that and have a good profile.  Put your resume on it, add a picture and reach out to bosses and colleagues for recommendations on the site.  Employers use it a lot.  Good luck!  I just went through it myself and it sucks.
