Does anyone know - is there a certain amount of time a physician's office (in Ohio) is required to keep your records? I'm googling but not coming up with anything...
I need to get my hands on (paper) prenatal records (at the office I still go to!!) and the office manager says she 'thinks' they've been destroyed.... I think she's being lazy and doesn't want to dig through archives.
I wouldn't normally make a stink but it's extremely important I get these... Something really neat is going on - a fancy schmancy doctor in Chicago called us personally and asked for them. She's working on a study dealing with our heart condition and could only find 20 something participants that meet the criteria - from the whole country - and I can add 3 more (my kiddos!) If she finds what she thinks she will it will mean major stuff for families like ours. I would really like to help!
So, I'm gonna be super peeved if they destroyed the records of my first two pregnancies.

Thanks ladies!
Oooh Katie - that is helpful! I'll be writing today - so they at least have to look - I'm not accepting her 'I don't think we have them' as the final word.
I just talked to someone else in the other office (same docs different location - where they actually store the paper records) and she said they have records from the 80's - they don't destroy.
Thanks!!!!!
I have no advice or idea...
I just wanted to say that is AMAZING!!! How incredible!!! I hope you are able to get what you need.
