Hello Lovely Ladies
Since I have not had an IVF yet, I am a little clueless on which meds need to be refrigerated ( I have only had clomid, ovidrel, menopur, estrodiol, tamoxifen and progesterone suppositories ) .
I would like to include this information on the blog when discussing shipping
TIA

Premixed drugs need refrigeration, the unmixed version of the same drug may NOT need refrigeration. Some need refrigeration only if you want to keep it through the expiration date on the box, it may be good for a period of time (3 months) unrefrigerated. Some drugs need to be kept at room temperature.... it all varies a lot, and the best guide is the packaging itslef. All drugs that I've taken have extensive website with storage information as well. EXAMPLE.
You best bet: if it came in an cooler, refrigerate it, and read the storage instructions.
If you really want to make a comprehensive list, HERE is a list and videos of common drugs, look up and link to all the appropriate websites that indicate storage instructions.
Thanks for providing all this information. (Personally, I think it's the responsibility of the original owner of the drug to clearly state what their storage method has been).
My nurse told me to refrigerate everything I used (lupron, menopur, follistim, PIO).
I know there was a post about this a long time ago and there was a lot of variation in what people were told to do. Some would say only refrigerate certain drugs and some only after they are opened.
The box or insert for the meds will usually say the temp to keep them at also.
BTW, I think this blog is a great idea! Thanks for putting it together.
